GHALANAI, May 11: Mohmand Agency political administration has formed tehsil wise price control committees in the entire eight tehsil of the tribal region here on Friday.
Political Agent Muhammad Wasif Saeed while talking to local journalist told at agency headquarters Ghalanai said that the local administration has constituted tehsil wise committees so that to regularize/check and quality in various local markets and bazaar.
These committees constituted in the heads of concerned tehsildar and members included shopkeeper’s association president, tribal elder and media men.
Local residents of the area welcomed the formation of such committees, which not only check the prices of food items but it also check the quality of the food commodities in the local markets.
It will be mentioned here that while taking notice over public complaint political administration has banned on transportation of sub-standard and unhygienic ice cream/Chips and locally manufactured Amchura and has subsequently directed to stop/halt transport of these items into Mohmand agency from down districts.
Political Agent Mohmand Agency Muhammad Wasif Saeed has directed all the concerned Assistant political agents to plans their regular visits to various local bazaars and markets to regularize prices and quality control.
Imdad Khan, a local resident of Atta said now the political administration has abolished all the taxes on various 38 items in the best public interest and people will get relief from it in the tribal region.
These items are chowker, breaks, crush, sand, fire wood, chapel, soap, surf,AC,Freezer,medicines, doors/windows, pipe, diesel, gas cylinder, coal, tractor, diesel for filling station, motorcycle, bossa/straw, clothes, vegetables etc.
Assistant Political Agent Lower Mohmand Touseef Khalid told "Mohmand Times "that the administration would take action against profiteers and hoarders.  “Those shopkeepers will be sent to lock up and imposed fine on them, who are selling the vegetables, fruits and other commodities on high prices in different bazaars of the area”.
