GHALANAI, April 10: Mohmand agency newly posted Political Agent Muhammad Wasif Saeed has abolished all the taxes on various 38 items in the best public interest and people will get relief from it in the tribal region while speaking during a Press Conference here at agency headquarters Ghalanai on Tuesday.
On the occasion APA Triq Ullah, APA Touseef Khalid, APA Sher Alam were also present.
He said that after examining the list of miscellaneous items against which CESS (Tax) was being collected on entering and exiting points to Mohmand agency.
PA said that on my second day in my office I realized that this tax is not suitable in the public interest.
 He directed all the concerned officials to with draw/ abolishes all the CESS (tax) charged on various 38 items out of a list 104 scheduled items.
These items are chowker, breaks, crush, sand, fire wood, chapel, soap, surf,AC,Freezer,medicines, doors/windows, pipe, diesel, gas cylinder, coal,tractor, diesel for filling station, motorcycle, bossa/straw, clothes, vegetables etc.
PA Mohmand told that the total financial impact of this abolition on the average per month based previous 21 months data turns out to be around Rs.500, 000 per month.
 “The decision was taken owing to the impact these items had on the day to day usage of middle, lower and poor classes of the society in the entire tribal region” said Saeed.
He said that such as straw for fodder, diesel vegetables,clothes,soap/surf, coal and others constituted in the list.
Muhammad Wasif Saeed told that it was realized that there items were already sold at a slightly higher rate from the Peshawar and settled areas of KP due to transportation overheads.
He further told that hence the additional burden on the masses in lieu of CESS charges was to be done away with it was decided that fiscal discipline was to be enforced in order to minimize an impact on expenses for political administration at the same time.
He said that owing to the gap created in the demand to FATA Secretariat for a provision in the regular budget by abolition of the various enlisted CESS items.
The local administration of Mohmand agency also abolished all the fees Rs.220 on Computerized National Identity Cards and Domicile Certificates in the best public interest.

A notification to this effect was issued from Political Agent office here on Tuesday.
