GHALANAI, Jan 17: Volunteers
belongs to the Community Disaster Response Team (CDRT) of tehsil Haleemzai have
constructed more than 300 feet long pedestrian paths for the villagers on
self-help basis through the help of volunteers.
Muhammad Fayaz who is
the team leader of Community Disaster Response Team of Haleemzai tehsil with
Pakistan Red Crescent Mohmand agency branch told Dawn, that they have got
various trainings from the Pakistan Red Crescent FATA platform and the
volunteers were sensitized to work for the public welfare with limited
resources support of locally.
He said that PRC FATA
has provided a Kit including Hammer, Buckets, working gloves, Wheel Barrow, plastic
pipe, Axes, First Aid Kits and others necessary tools to carried out such types
of activities in village level for the wellbeing of peoples.
“We have total of
about 25 volunteers team at tehsil level at the initial stage we have
constructed at least 300 feet long street pavement in Mulayano Mandi Village
area of Haleemzai tehsil but shall continue such types activities in others
villages of the area “said Fayaz Khan.
Another Volunteer Abuzar Khan told that they
worked with help of CDRT Kit such wheel barrow and they worked on Sunday for
seven hours on the street and total 8 volunteers worked there.
They urged the local
youths to resolve their mini issue themselves and don’t waste their precious
time for others.
Ijaz Khan a local resident of the village said
that people were facing difficulties to use the street during rain. He said
that the volunteers after got proper Kit and training from PRC FATA now legible
from and started work on path to resolve the longstanding problem of the area.
He said that the
volunteers worked for two days in which about 25 volunteers and 4 elders took
part and completed 300 feet long street pavements for villagers.
