GHALANAI, Nov 30: To celebrate the International Day for Peoples effected by disabilities, Pakistan Red Crescent Society FATA Mohmand Agency together with Social welfare and Agency Sports Department Mohmand Agency organized a cricket match for blind teams at Agency headquarters Ghalanai Sports Stadium, on Thursday.
The 203 Wing Commander Lt. Col Ali Nawaz, Major Waseem
Khan, Social welfare Officer Muhammad Ibrar Khan, Agency Sports Manager Saeed
Akhtar, PRC FATA Project Officer Community Based Risk Education Obeedullah Khan,
PRC FATA Restoring Family Links Malik Shahid Khan Wazir, PRC Mohmand Agency
Officer Afzal Khan, PRC Volunteers, students and a large numbers of spectators
also attended the function.
The Lower Mohmand blind cricket team won the toss and
scored 146 runs in stipulated 15 overs in reply Upper Mohmand team achieved the
target on three wickets.
In this way Upper Mohmand blind cricket team won the
match with 7 wicket Captain Mohsin Khan scored 103 runs not got man of the
match award.
Speaking on the
occasion, Lt. Col Ali Nawaz Khan emphasized on the importance of reintegrating
persons with disabilities in the society.
He told the
audience that persons with disabilities have to the same ability as healthy men
have that is why today they performed very excellent in the playground.
He also thanked the Pakistan Red Crescent Mohmand
Agency for organizing a cricket match for special persons and its continued
support for the peoples of Mohmand agency.
