Substantial development planned for Mohmand.

GHALANAI, Aug 22: Mohmand Agency political agent Mehmood Aslam Wazir on Tuesday said the government had planned huge development in Mohmand Agency during the next upcoming development program on special directives of KP governor large amount has been allocated for various development works on priority basis.

“New middle and high schools would be upgraded in the agency, Nahqi to Mamad gat road will be completed within three months while Nahqi Tunnel would be opened for general traffic in a few days” he was talking to the local journalist at Ghalanai.

He said that the money will be spent on various ongoing development schemes to be completed. Works on comprehensive planning has started in the entire three Sub-Divisional of the tribal region while all the poor community will be benefited.

The political agent said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Engineer Iqbal Zafar Jahgara had given directives to the administration to complete all incomplete development schemes in Mohmand Agency during the next fiscal and therefore, no we are working day and night so that to complete these new schemes in a record time.

Tribesmen jirga has been called to know about needs of tribesmen so that they could be properly addressed in the annual development programme for the next financial year,” he said.

Mr Mehmood Aslam said no development scheme would be approved in the name of a single person and only those serving the community would secure approval and funding.

He said all development projects would be initiated in an area in consultation with the local residents.

The political agent urged officials to work without fear and favour and ensure speedy delivery of services to the people.

He said officials of all departments in the agency should ensure presence in their offices to prevent action.

Reply to a question PA said that works on development projects continue form Anti Narcotics in Ambar, Prang Ghar, border areas of Khwezai, Biazai and Safi areas where various development works will complete soon.

 He said that up gradation of schools was close from many years in the tribal region while now after sanction from FATA Secretariat many middle and high schools would be up graded for this year’s due to which teachers vacancies would be created.

“To promote sporting activities in the tribal region construction works on Gymnasium continues in Ghalanai Sports stadium where Peshawar, Islamabad and Lahore like facilities would be available for the youth players” he added.

He said that Memory Gate near Lower Mohmand Ekka Ghound completion in the last stage and it will create the agency to know its unique identity.
