Safi tribesmen seeks health, education and others facilities in Mohmand Agency

GHALANAI, Aug 19: The only girls school in the area short of teaching staff while the newly building was constructed already only one teacher performing her duty in the school this was told by former Head of Safi Peace committee Haji Sobedar Safi while talking to journalist here on Saturday.

He said that the primary and middle portions were damaged during militancy which was not reconstructed till date due to which the primary portion students were facing difficulties.

“There are 550 students enrolled in the school while the only one teacher coming to school which is impossible and not enough to teach these students” Safi said.

He added that we were informed some sources in the education department that at least 18 teachers drawing their salaries in the name of this school while only single teacher performing her duty in the said school.

Haji Sobedar complains that they have requested many times to the education department and officials of the local administration to look into the matter but in vain.

He said that same worse situation in the hospitals no staffs and doctors were deployed and locals were facing problems totally depend on private practionners.

He told that no staffs were deployed in the Mamad Gat and Shawa hospitals for the last 7 years.

Haji Sobedar told that Ziarat Marble mine is the famous marble in the whole world therefore the local administration should construct at least 8 kilometers black top road from the main Peshawar Bajaur road which would be more accessible for all the loaded trucks.

“More than 100 incidents of IED blast occurred on this Kacha track in which about dozens tribesmen were killed and scores were injured “told Safi.

He complains that the local administration is not cooperation in the progress of Ziarat Marble while receiving millions of rupees on monthly basis therefore they should construct a network of link roads to the Ziarat and Khanqa Marble mines to facilitate these mines holders.

Reply to a question said that FATA Development Authority has not constructed a single road for marble mines in the entire Safi tehsil and told that they are constructing roads only for their blue eyed and influential’s ones.

He suggested that local administration should  formed the  marble union at Safi tehsil like in Biazai and Ambar tehsils which will resolve the issues related to Marble mines in the area.

“There are many problems and dispute in marble mines in the area and for that purpose I suggesting that under the supervision of the administration a union should be constitute” said Safi.

He said that the Political agent then resolve all the marble related disputes through this union and it will also meets all the government demands and requirements.

 Tribesmen told on the occasion that marble is the only income source of this area and we will set up a welfare fund for this purpose on which we will construct damaged schools and hospitals of the area.

He also flays the roles of local parliamentarians that they didn’t expand a single Penney in the Safi teshil in seven years which is injustice with tribesmen.

“Local tribesmen installed solar panels and tube wells on self basis while I have also sanction a water supply schemes on payment from a department” he said 

When contacted Political Agent Mahmood Aslam he said that there would be no compromise on transparency and accuracy in the local administration.

He said that he has written letters to all the concerned assistant political agents and directed him to take necessary measure to make the all the mine leases, developmental projects, and others activities creditable and transparent.
